Indian dances Lucile Hannesse goes regularly to India to learn bharatanatyam, mohiniatam, kathakali in Kerala – South India – in Delhi and in Benaras. Equipped with this formal training, she gives workshops and performances, and creates traditional dance shows (The Sacred Family) or fusion shows with contemporary dance and with theater (The Lord of Sleep, pedagogical shows). Lucile regularly presents these dances, in France and in India, for theaters, temples, formation centers and festivals. Why study in India ? The dance carries the culture in which it was created. This is particularly true for sacred dances like the three types mentioned before. To dance these, one has to know and live the Indian culture.
